About Us
This beautiful Natural Health Retreat Center was
created by owner Peggy M. Huff in 2002. Its goal was to offer holistic health
oriented retreats and vacations to the general public. During that time, she
created a Juice Fasting Detoxification Program which became highly successful,
and one of the most popular packages offered.
She realized that there was a clear need for a place to go to detoxify and reclaim health that was soothing, relaxing, nurturing and supportive, and beyond her own Center, she could not find another such place.
The environment is rich with opportunities to grow spiritually and emotionally, while reclaiming physical health in a holistic and nurturing way. We realize that the setting is as important to becoming healthy and whole as every other element we include in our program, and believe with all our hearts that anyone who comes to The Essence Center will find the retreat experience they need, and enjoy long term, and even life-long benefits.
Through the years, Peggy has studied alternative medicine and the healing arts and sciences. She has an educational background in Oriental Medicine, massage and bodywork therapy and naturopathic medicine, and owns a successful massage therapy school and massage therapy treatment center in Asheville called Center for Massage & Natural Health.
